Three Reasons to Celebrate: Wedding, Baptism and Birthday Party

If chance has it, then so be it! That's what an adorable family of three thought when they booked a date for what could be the biggest party of their lives. We are talking about planning a wedding and baptism at the same time. Nowadays it is actually quite common for Greeks to combine the wedding with the baptism of their child. But there was more to this date... their little girl's birthday.

When we first met, the couple had already booked the wedding venue and church. The church plays a significant role in Greek society, which is why most weddings involve a traditional Orthodox wedding ceremony in a Greek church. However, the couple also wanted to add a touch of modernity to their special day, which they obviously found in their choice of wedding location. Guests were welcomed into a two-story winery with modern architecture and panoramic view. What is more, they were interested in a more unusual color palette for their wedding styling concept. Instead of the typical colors (white, green and gold), the color palette for this event included shades of orange and dusty pink. We think these colors are absolutely enchanting for a celebration of this kind.

Our job was to combine both the traditional and modern aspects of this event through our styling, from the children's play area to the adult tables. At Greek weddings and baptisms, the most common party favor is called “bomboniera.” It usually contains sugar-coated almonds. Various puff pastries are also placed on the tables, one for each person. In addition to these Greek traditional table items, we wanted to spice things up by adding pops of color.

The aim was to develop a simple, yet sophisticated table decoration concept. That is why we decided to add pink and orange flowers in nude vases as well as colorful candles. The idea behind the children's play area was to add the same colors but much more colorful items. After all, it is a girl's birthday too! We decorated the children's tables with dusty pink and orange paper flowers, gold paper plates and cups, and colored napkins. Additionally, the children's area was decorated with our handmade garlands, as well as pink and brown bohemian-style pillows. Finally, we tried to connect both areas by using large welcome signs with the same design. Photo impressions from this triple event below!
