TRADITION MEETS BOHEMIAN ATMOSPHERE AT A CRETAN WEDDING AND BAPTISM PARTY
Calling for earthy shades in a place that couldn't be closer to the gifts of Mother Earth. This wedding and baptism celebration took place at Cretan Aroma in the south of Rethymno with a stunning panoramic mountain view. Our first steps in this magical place were accompanied by the buzzing of bees and the rustling of plants and trees. Cretan Aroma stands for products from local agriculture. They specialize in Cretan herbs, countless of which can be seen while walking through the fields. In fact, it is an explosion for all the senses and definitely worth a visit if you travel to Crete. The traditional venue with wooden event furniture combined with bohemian accessories was a perfect fit. Atmospheric lighting and sound were installed by the highly experienced Rakitzis Events team.
One of our most important planning tasks is the look of our children’s play areas and choice of event decoration. We make it a point to adapt to the overall event theme and avoid inappropriate color combinations. When we first met the clients, they already had a clear idea of what the overall look of the event should be. To be honest, we wouldn't have expected anything else, especially after seeing their lovely cafe called Pantermo, which serves freshly baked local treats in the heart of Rethymno's old town.
The bohemian style of this event and our large cotton canvas bell tent go hand in hand. It is this event piece that gives the children's play area that special touch. In addition to our bell tent, we also set up our small children's tables with customade table decoration for eating and crafting. Our bell tent and small tables were set up on the venue lawn, while we used a balcony-like structure with a huge olive tree in the middle to create a second children's area for our Photo Box and Hanging Wishes activities. The olive tree was actually perfect for hanging the dozens of paper shapes from our “Hanging Wishes”, an alternative guestbook idea, sort of like an “open” guestbook. The paper shapes serve as pages on which the children write or draw their wishes. We then put all the pieces together into a small book. Memories that last a lifetime!
